A good travel mug isn’t just about keeping your drink warm—it’s about being your trusted companion through every adventure, from early morning treks to long hours in the wild. There’s nothing like taking a slow sip, surrounded by nature, as you wait for the perfect shot.

I am constantly chasing the light. Wyoming’s light is like no other I have ever experienced before. We are so far north that the way it touches the land feels different.

I love cloudy days for that exact reason. The clouds can make a photo of sleepy deer more dramatic. The combination of shifting skies and the Wind River Range creates the perfect backdrop.

My truck was broken when I took this photo. But one of the best things about living here is that you don’t have to go far to be in the wild. When Conor dropped me off, we accidentally woke the deer. Luckily, they were still groggy enough to stay curious, giving me just enough time to set up my camera and capture the moment before they disappeared.

Nothing else showed up that day. I stayed out there for three hours, travel mug in hand, soaking in the silence. And yet, I walked home with a smile on my face, because of this particular photo.

I love this shot—the perfect combination of light, backdrop, and subject. Just like the perfect combination of a crisp morning, a camera, and a warm drink to make the wait even more enjoyable.
