First introduced in 1960 serve as a top of the line model alongside the J-200, the Gibson Hummingbird has been one of the most played and sought after acoustic guitars of the last 50 years, remaining a constant in the Gibson catalog since its introduction.

This 1963 Gibson Hummingbird is in fantastic condition, with only the most minimal play wear to speak of. Constructed from a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, the Hummingbird features a beautifully ornate pick guard similar to that of the later Dove model. Other features include gold Kluson Deluxe tuners, split parallelogram pearl fingerboard inlays, and the original belly up plastic bridge with original adjustable nylon saddle. 

This guitar is in excellent condition, and is up there with the cleanest vintage Hummingbirds we have had in store. Our head luthier carried out a minor repair to a small top crack just below the bridge which can be seen in the pictures. He also added a Maple fillet on the underside of the bridge to support the original bridge plate, allowing the bridge pins and string ends to sit better in the bridge. 

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
